Farm Update
I've never been one to complain about how long January feels and with the exception of last 11 days of January, this year is no different. Those first 20 days sped by like any other month. But those last 11 felt like an eternity. Probably because I didn't have a whole lot to do and instead of enjoying the respite, I about drove myself mad thinking up a bunch of new projects to do around the ranch!
I thought of no less than 10 new things to do or try, and then had to carefully go through each one and explain to myself why I couldn't fit it into what we're already doing.
And, thankfully, I've managed to convince myself that only 2 of the 10 are possible. I can't say what exactly they are yet because they still have to go through some refining, but I will say that one has to do with goats, and the other has to do with a couple of potential new products.
In CSA news: We still have space in our CSA this year so if you want to register you can do so here: https://grownby.app/farms/julbud-ranch/shop
You will be able to select how many items you want to pick up each week (4,6,8, or 10) and the prices vary based on how may items you choose. Then, on your pickup days you will get to come and 'shop' from our stock of fresh, organic veggies.
In goat news: Two of our baby boys went to new homes in January. The only one left is Rain and the goat yard feels rather empty without the other two.
I tried to breed Reba to Caspian twice, but she didn't take either time, so she is for sure, retired now. And we are going to go ahead with our plan to give Honey a break, so no baby goats this spring unless...
In natural skincare news: Almost all my skincare products have been restocked with the exception of 2 soaps that are still curing.
Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I'm always happy to help put together a gift basket for your loved ones. And if you'd like to support other local businesses, I can combine items from our store and from other businesses into one beautiful basket for you. If you need some inspiration, I recommend these local businesses:
Seek Chocolate Shop - Bean to Bar Artisan Chocolate
3 Queens Apiary - Local raw honey and beeswax candles
The Hearthside Event Center - The Frozen Hearts ball is coming up on February 8th! And tickets are still available!
I am working on a redesign of my bath bomb egg packaging, so I have temporarily made those unavailable on the website while I figure out all the details.
I've also decided that once I am out of sample soap boxes, I will no longer be offering sample soaps as they take up a lot of space and don't sell very well.
