Farm Share Registration is OPEN!

I am so excited about Farm Share Registration opening up! I've spent the last few weeks getting details finalized and kinks worked out. This is our first official year offering farm shares, you may remember we did a practice run last year.

Since it is our first year, we know there will be plenty of room to grow. So we hope you'll be patient with us during our first season and offer any feedback you have.

In other news, we brought another buck home to try and get Reba pregnant. And of course things didn't go as I planned. Badger is the bucks name. The day we brought him home, Honey decided to let me know she was definitely not pregnant by her loud bleats and wagging tail.

It had been my intention to keep Badger separated from the girls until Reba was in heat. Then I was going to put Reba and Badger together. But since Honey was in heat the day Badger arrived, he decided it was his mission to get to her and jumped over the walls of the pen I'd built inside the shed. Granted, they are pretty short walls. But they'd worked so well for the other buck, Hardy, that I didn't even think about it being an issue. Oh well.

Instead of drawing blood again to get pregnancy test results I'm going to wait and see with both girls. They will be due mid July if they are pregnant. If they aren't pregnant, I wouldn't try breeding again until the fall anyway as I don't want baby goats in the blazing heat of August. By then I'm hoping we'll have our own buck, with his own housing and secure fencing.

In the next week or so I'll be starting more seeds. My office is going to be bursting at the seams with plant life in the near future. Which is good because it means spring is nearby. Are you ready for warmer temps and melted snow? I am.
