Merry Christmas!
The snow has finally arrived in our little valley and we managed to get everything winterized!
Craig still has one project he wants to finish, but we're waiting for it to be delivered. It's a carport along the side of our house to shelter the tractor since we have decided to use it as our main means of moving snow this year, and it doesn't have a cab.
Last month I mentioned I was working on some things behind the scenes that had to do with our CSA. Well I can share that now! I have decided to use a third party website for CSA registration this year and it is fantastic! It's called GrownBy and it's designed for farmers, so it's going to make signing up and managing the CSA SO much easier next year!
I am going to be opening registration gradually. First I will give this years members a chance to sign up again, then I will open registration to those who were on our wait-list this year. If I still have space after that, I will open registration to everyone, which will probably be toward the end of January.
I'm still working on some behind the scenes product stuff, so I can't quite share my thoughts on it yet, but I'm excited about what might be coming in the new year.
In goat news... This weekend we are getting a visitor on the ranch. Hardy the buck will be staying in our new goat shed with Reba for about a week or so, to see if we can get her bred.
She is currently getting a hormone treatment, which will last until Monday the 11th. After that she should go into heat within 24 hours and the second part of her treatment, which will happen on the 11th, should help her release eggs and clear out anything that might be preventing her from having a normal cycle.
We're only trying once with her this year, so prayers that this would be a successful breeding would be appreciated.
In chicken news: One of our chickens decided to be broody - meaning they want to hatch out some baby chicks - so I decided to let her. She has been sitting on 5 eggs for almost three weeks now. We should see baby chicks in the next five days! Keep an eye on our social media for when that event happens.
In soap news: I am currently working on making sample soaps for the new soap line and plan to offer two sample soap package options. One for the signature soaps, and one for the Novel soaps. These packages will be $7.00 each. In the signature sample box you'll get two sample of each scent except unscented for a total of nine samples. And in the novel sample box, you'll get one each of the 7 scents I offer.
I also decided to lower the price of my face mask powders, so they are now $7.00 a tin instead of $10. This is a permanent change, so not a sale.
