About the event

This workshop will take place in the ranch kitchen. Please note, we do not have a commercial kitchen and no one regulates our kitchen. I do however have a food handler's permit and we will be using safe food handling practices.

In this workshop the kids will learn how to make fresh goat cheese using raw milk from our goat, Honey. They will learn what rennet is, and where it comes from. They will also learn a little bit about cultures & bacteria, but since we won't be using added cultures in the cheese, we won't go indepth about it.

We will also be making mayo* from scratch and using some of that mayo to make our own ranch dressing. The kids will get to take home some cheese, mayo, and ranch dressing.

*homemade mayo uses raw, unpasturized eggs. If you are uncomfortable with this you can send your child to the workshop with pasturized eggs from the store or skip this class.
