Pa and Ma showed them how to pour the dark syrup in little streams on to the snow. They made circles, and curlicues, and squiggledy thingsā¦ ~ Little House in the Big Woods
Pure maple syrup is the only ingredient in this soap that offers any scent to this bar. The syrup gives a very slight, sweet scent and gives this soap a color very similiar to the snow candy described in the book.
The Little House on the Prarie books were a favorite of mine as a child. I loved imagining myself in their time, living without modern conveniences. And now, I get to milk my goats and create my own soap and I like to think in a small way, I've brought their time to life in mine.
Snow Candy
